To mark the 10th anniversary of the Pasticcino Bag, Weekend Max Mara released the Pasticcino Bag World Tour limited edition named “Italian Roots,” the company said. The series comprises six limited designs that the brand says draw on Italy’s artistic and craft traditions, and represents the fifth chapter of the World Tour project.

Silk jacquard from a Florentine weaving foundation

Weekend Max Mara said the new Pasticcino Bag variants use precious jacquard fabrics supplied by Fondazione Arte della Seta Lisio, a Florentine silk weaving foundation. The patterns reinterpret Tuscan architectural motifs, marble veining, Renaissance color palettes, and geometric details with a contemporary approach.

Marble bead closures by Budri

The signature spherical bead closures on the Pasticcino Bag were created in collaboration with Budri, the Italian marble atelier, Weekend Max Mara said. The beads feature rare marbles including Calacatta Belgia with deep veining, Bardiglio Carrara, Nero di Ormea with black and gold veins, Portoro Extra, and the deep green Issogne marble, and the marble motifs extend to metal hardware details to emphasize the bag’s artisanal character.

A Florence event to explore the collection’s craft

To celebrate the Pasticcino Bag anniversary and launch the World Tour Italian Roots series, Weekend Max Mara hosted a cultural program in Florence, the brand said. The event invited international talents to visit workshops and cultural sites and to experience the artisanal processes behind the collection.

Guests at the Florence program included Italian actresses Alessandra Mastronardi and Valentina Romani, Spanish actress Nicole Wallace from Netflix series credits, American actor and creator Liza Koshy, Chinese entertainer Wu Xin (吴昕), Portuguese model Sara Sampaio, and Korean variety star Choi Hye-seon. The group visited museums and ateliers to trace the inspirations for the collection’s motifs and materials, Weekend Max Mara said.

Weekend Max Mara said the “Italian Roots” edition celebrates the Pasticcino Bag’s design language by linking its retro frame silhouette to Italian visual traditions and material craft. The brand confirmed the limited pieces will be offered through select stores and the Weekend Max Mara website, with availability varying by market.
