San NARS blush: How to copy his sunburned makeup look

San NARS blush became a trending beauty moment after San of K-pop group ATEEZ wore a sunburned, just off the beach makeup look at a NARS pop-up event in Seoul.

ATEEZ returned with the single “BAD,” and San, who stands at center on many of the group performances, drew attention with a powerful chest-thumping dance that fans called electrifying.

His stage energy, combined with the sweat-sheened intensity captured on camera, helped fuel interest in the softer, sun-kissed makeup he later wore off stage.

At a NARS pop-up event in Seoul, San arrived in an all black outfit that showed off his sculpted silhouette, but what kept photographers and fans focused was a subtly flushed, innocent looking sunburned effect on his face.

A makeup artist who worked on San’s look at the pop-up, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly, said the effect was created with NARS new liquid blush designed for long wear.

What the product promises: long wear and skin care benefits

According to NARS, the formula combines peptides and ceramides to help support the skin barrier while delivering a dewy, satin finish that blends into foundation like a second layer of skin.

The brand also states the liquid formula resists sweat and humidity and provides up to 16 hours of color retention, while avocado extract helps the pigments sit evenly on the skin, NARS said.

How to use San NARS blush for a natural sunburned effect

To recreate San’s look with the NARS liquid blush, the makeup artist recommended applying the color to the apples of the cheeks and sweeping lightly up along the cheekbones and down the bridge of the nose for a unified, sun kissed glow.

She noted that the lightweight, silky texture layers without caking and can be built for more intensity while still reading as skin, and that the formula is suitable for both humid outdoor days and long indoor events.

Shade pick 1, ITS Y BITSY coral

The shade ITS Y BITSY is a sheer coral with warm undertones that reads soft and approachable on the skin, making it a good choice for a widespread application across the cheek and nose.

Its high pigment payoff and avocado extract help it sit smoothly, creating the warm base you see in San’s sunburned makeup.

Shade pick 2, QUÉ CALOR dusty rose

The shade QUÉ CALOR is a dusty rose that appears restrained on the swatch but reads daring on the cheek when layered, giving a sultry yet soft edge to neutral makeup looks.

Both shades are designed to blend seamlessly into skin and to create a slightly tipsy, flushed effect that works on all genders and a wide range of skin tones.

If you want San NARS blush to last through a full day, set the product lightly with a translucent powder on the T zone only, and refresh with a small dab of the liquid where color has faded, the makeup artist advised.

For fans who want to match San’s exact look, visiting a NARS counter or pop-up for a shade match is the recommended first step, the brand said in promotional materials for the product line.
