Swiss performance brand On this month unveiled the third generation Cloudmonster running shoes, aiming to give runners improved cushioning, propulsion, and energy return for daily training and long distance runs.
Cloudmonster 3: A daily training choice
Cloudmonster 3 is built for everyday runners. Its sole uses a three layer CloudTec® geometric cushioning structure combined with a dual density Helion EVA foam midsole, delivering strong shock absorption and rebound in each step. A reshaped outsole with a larger curvature enhances forward propulsion, giving each stride a greater sense of drive and rhythm. A Speedboard nylon blend propulsion plate hidden in the midsole acts as an internal energy core, releasing rebound on impact to provide steady, sustained forward motion. The overall design balances cushioning and smoothness, helping runners keep light, natural strides during regular training.
Cloudmonster 3 Hyper: A long distance training partner
Cloudmonster 3 Hyper continues the series focus on high cushioning and strong energy return, and it is aimed at runners who want efficient training and recovery. Developed with input from On Athletics Club elite athletes, and tested extensively by professional runners, the Hyper uses 20 percent more Helion HF foam than previous models to strike an ideal balance among cushioning, resilience, and energy return. The design reduces reliance on traditional propulsion plates, which can lower leg strain during long runs. An upgraded heel stability structure improves fit and overall comfort.
LightSpray Cloudmonster 3 Hyper: The peak of lightweight design
Designed for runners who want to go faster and farther, the LightSpray Cloudmonster 3 Hyper takes the series to a new level. It uses On most forward looking LightSpray upper technology, preserving the Cloudmonster line signature of extreme rebound and cushioning while delivering an unprecedented lightweight feel.
This is On lightest Cloudmonster to date, built from only eight components: one upper, two midsole components, and five small rubber pieces. In U.S. men size eight point five, the shoe weighs approximately 6.7 ounces, significantly reducing runner load. The minimalist construction also lowers the carbon footprint and produces agile response similar to elite race shoes, allowing speed and efficiency to connect smoothly in every step.
