Balenciaga has unveiled a new fragrance collection more than 75 years after Cristóbal Balenciaga introduced Le Dix in 1947, honoring the original scent while reimagining it for the future.
Tradition and innovation
Since Cristóbal Balenciaga founded the house in 1917, the brand has been known for precise craftsmanship and sculptural silhouettes that reshaped high fashion. The new fragrance line extends that spirit of disruptive elegance into perfumery, aiming to push the boundaries of scent while preserving the design ethos. The collection seeks to embody time, memory, and the brand’s creative principles.

Craftsmanship across time
The revival began after the brand archive team spent 15 years searching for the original Le Dix bottle, which they reproduced using high precision techniques. The new bottle is refillable and topped with a spherical glass cap, and it is wrapped with a hand tied ribbon. The deliberately aged packaging is meant to convey the warmth of passing time and to make signs of wear part of the design.

The collection’s liquid tones shift from a translucent glow to deep smoky black, suggesting the passage of time. That layered spectrum mirrors the fragrances moving from fresh to intense, and it reflects the brand’s balance of minimalism and dramatic tension.

Ten fragrances, a new chapter
Each fragrance in the collection is built from rare essences and a distinctive structure that blends traditional French perfumery with contemporary creativity. Like the house’s couture, every scent reveals multiple layers and contrasting appeals. The ten fragrances are No Comment, Getaria, Twenty Four Seven, To Be Confirmed, Muscara, Le Dix, 100%, Extra, Cristóbal, and Incense Perfumum. Each is available in a 100 milliliter bottle, about 3.4 fluid ounces, a 15 milliliter travel spray, about 0.5 fluid ounce, and a 200 milliliter refill, about 6.8 fluid ounces. There is also a discovery box presented in a cigarette case that contains 10 two milliliter vials, about 0.07 fluid ounce each, for collectors and travel use.

With this launch, Balenciaga positions scent as a medium for dialogue between time and aesthetics, continuing the house’s century long legacy in a contemporary form.
