The 2026 Art Basel Hong Kong exhibition kicks off today, March 27, running for four days at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Featuring 240 galleries from 41 countries and regions, it further solidifies Hong Kong’s role as a major hub for artistic exchange in Asia and globally.
This year’s exhibition highlights a more distinct curatorial direction and cross-disciplinary collaborations. The “Artistic Collective Space” focuses on the five elements of Asian culture—earth, water, fire, wind, and space—as its core concept, showcasing 12 large-scale installations that challenge spatial dimensions across various exhibition areas. Additionally, Christine Sun Kim’s site-specific digital animation installation extends into the nearby Pacific Place. The “Curatorial Corner” features 35 themed projects that explore diverse historical phases and contemporary art practices in the Asia-Pacific region. Two new sections, “Echoes” and “Zero 10,” represent divergent futures for art, with “Zero 10” marking the first showcase of digital art in Asia, prompting a reconsideration of how digital creations are displayed and collected within contemporary art frameworks.
